REMEMBERING THE GOOD OLD DAYS

School days! Alas! Whenever these two words are coined together they make me nostalgic. Requesting the teachers for free periods, fighting for desks to sit with your best friends, collecting money to get samosas, pulling each others’ leg, coughing when your friend’s crush used to pass by, late night studies, consoling each other, cheating while exams, well the list goes on and memories remain forever.

The first building block of my life, it not only gave me memories but also made me who I am today.  I am thankful to all my teachers who scolded me on my mistakes and guided me so well.

Now when we are talking about school days how can I forget to share my most cherished memory of those days. I remember, we had meditation sessions at the end of the last period and we were to sing gayatri mantra in chorus. Our maths teacher, Mrs. Neelam Chabbra (we used to call her chabbo though) used to sing along with us and a friend of mine always used to stop others so that we could hear only our teacher sing. And trust me we used to make so much fun of her.  Chabbo’s English was very pathetic. She used to say. “Come you here”, “look at heres” and we always used to wonder how many sides we have to look. If I were to give her any award, I would have surely given her the funniest teacher of the school.

Well, with this I end my note, wishing to go back to those days where the only tension was the pressure of exams, and no politics nothing. With a teary eyed I say good bye to my school day with a wish that I could live those moments again.
